Geocell foam glass aggregate is an insulation material for underground use. It is manufactured mainly from post-consumer recycled glass. Foam glass aggregate saves energy, is a great material for insulating buildings and floors/floor slabs as well as being eco-friendly and providing excellent heat insulation.Geocell foam glass gravel will help contribute to a more comfortable indoor environment. Foam glass is light, easy to install, insulating, strong, drains well, and is fire-resistant.
We supply this product in 90m3 loose loads or bulk bags of either 1m³, 1.5m³, 2m³ or 3m3 to optimize shipping space reducing the overall cost for our customers.
GEOCELL FOAM GLASS PROPERTIES
- excellent thermal resistance capability – (certified conductivity of 0.08 W/mK).
- high compressive strength: the lattice structure creates a high compressive strength of >570 kN/m².
- closed cell: nil capillary action
- superior hydraulic conductivity: the uniformed grain size and no fines create the highest degree of drainage capacity without causing settlement to the building or slab.
- inert: meets the highest standards for inert building material. Leaching tests did not show any adverse effects.
- 100% ecological: made from 99% recycled glass
- light weight: low density 150 kg/m³
- fire resistance: In compliance with EN Class A1 sintering point above 700°C.
Geocell Foam Glass Aggregate – The Manufacturing Process of Recycled Foam Glass
GEOMATERIALS Foam Glass undergoes sintering at high temperatures. Conveyor ovens heat glass powder to around 900°C, causing it to expand and form foam glass. The foam glass cake comes out of the kiln on the conveyor belt to cool down. During this cooling process, tension cracks occur and so it breaks down into our foam glass gravel. This activity creates a closed cell structure in GEOMATERIALS Foam Glass that is evenly distributed. The finished GEOMATERIALS Foam Glass stands for sustainability through recycling. This makes recycled foam glass aggregate particularly environmentally friendly.
In combination with GEOMATERIALS Expanded Glass Beads which is used for rough levelling, this is a simple dry, moisture-resistant, non-combustible solution for re-flooring.
