Exposed Rafters – Pitched Roof System

The high performance roof system is installed using Pavatex wood fibre boards and breathable membranes. By the very nature of wood fibre insulation, the interior will remain warm in winter and cool in summer! It complies with the most stringent of standards – from baseline building regulations through to Passivhaus.

This system both is simple to install and very effective. A timber sarking board is fixed to the top side of the rafters and an airtightness membrane layer then applied. Multiple layers of wood fibre are then installed, one of which acts as a sheathing board as well as an insulation layer. A breathable membrane is finally applied and timber battens and roof material then added.

The result is a very robust system that will give fantastic performance all year round in terms of thermal performance, protection from summertime overheating, humidity regulation and some acoustic protection from outside.
