What is BAUMIT KlimaGlatt Lime Finishing Plaster?
BAUMIT KlimaGlatt is a natural, fine white lime finishing plaster supplied as a factory-mixed dry powder. It is designed to create high-quality, smooth interior wall and ceiling finishes with excellent breathability and indoor climate benefits.

Where can KlimaGlatt plaster be used?
KlimaGlatt is intended for internal use only. It can be applied to substrates such as lime or cement-based plaster, concrete, aerated concrete and plasterboard to achieve a refined smooth surface.

How do I mix and prepare KlimaGlatt plaster?
To prepare the plaster:
• Empty the dry powder into clean water in a tub.
• Leave for 5–10 minutes.
• Stir with a suitable mixer (e.g. whisk or render machine) to a lump-free, creamy consistency.
Do not remix material that has begun to set.

What thickness should I apply for a smooth finish?
The recommended overall thickness is 2–3 mm, with a minimum of 2 mm to achieve a smooth surface. This is best applied in 2 passes of 1 – 1.5mm each.

What are the technical performance characteristics?
Key performance data include:
• Reaction to fire: A1 (non-combustible)
• Compression strength: 0.4 – 2.5 N/mm²
• Adhesive tensile strength: ≥ 0.08 N/mm²
• Thermal conductivity: 0.820 W/mK
• Water vapour resistance (μ-value): approx. 5

What coverage does a 20 kg bag provide?
A 20 kg bag yields approximately:
• 20 m² at 1 mm thickness
• 10 m² at 2 mm thickness
Typical consumption is about 1 kg/m² per mm thickness.

How long does KlimaGlatt take to dry?
Drying time can vary depending on temperature and substrate absorbency, but the plaster is typically ready for next steps within around 8 hours under normal conditions.

What substrates are suitable for KlimaGlatt plaster?
Suitable substrates include:
• Lime and lime-cement renders
• Concrete and aerated concrete
• Plasterboard (prime plasterboard first with primer)
Surfaces must be clean, dry, frost-free, dust-free, and free of loose material before application.

How should this plaster be stored?
Store bags in cool, dry, frost-free conditions, sealed and protected from moisture. Shelf life is typically up to 12 months in proper storage.

Can KlimaGlatt be used with other Baumit plasters?
Yes. KlimaGlatt can be applied as a topcoat over compatible basecoats such as Baumit MC55 W, RK38, RK39 and RK70 N renders and plasters
