Build It Live Malvern 2026
Unity Lime were pleased to exhibit at Build It Live Malvern 2026, meeting homeowners, self-builders, architects and contractors from across the West Midlands, Wales, the South West and even as far as the Isle of Skye.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to discuss a wide range of construction projects, from new-build homes currently in the planning stages through to complex renovations of traditional and listed properties. As always, there was strong interest in natural building materials that can improve thermal performance while creating healthier and more comfortable living environments.
Throughout the weekend, James and Connor spoke with visitors about a variety of topics, including:
• Breathable insulation solutions for listed and heritage buildings
• Timber frame construction using natural insulation materials
• Improving the energy efficiency of older homes without compromising the building fabric
• Roof insulation systems designed to minimise the risk of summertime overheating
• Sustainable alternatives to conventional insulation products
• Moisture management and condensation control in both new-build and retrofit projects
Alongside the usual enquiries from self-builders and homeowners progressing planning applications, there was a noticeable increase in interest from owners of period properties. Many were seeking suitable insulation systems that would allow solid masonry walls to remain breathable while improving comfort and reducing energy consumption. These conversations highlighted the growing awareness that traditional buildings require materials and systems that work with the existing fabric.
One of the key advantages of attending events such as Build It Live is the opportunity to discuss individual projects in detail. Every building presents its own challenges, and selecting the most appropriate materials often depends on factors such as construction type, moisture behaviour, environmental priorities and performance objectives. Whether visitors were interested in carbon-storing materials such as wood fibre and hemp, natural plastic-free solutions including cork and sheep wool, or high-performance roof systems designed to combat overheating, our team were able to provide tailored guidance based on the specific needs of each project.
The enthusiasm for sustainable building continues to grow, with many visitors looking beyond minimum building regulation requirements and seeking homes that deliver long-term comfort, durability and reduced environmental impact.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand during the event. We enjoyed the conversations and look forward to supporting many of these projects as they move forward. If you were unable to attend Build It Live Malvern but would like advice on breathable construction, natural insulation or lime-based systems, please contact our team at info@unitylime.co.uk. We are always happy to help.
